I know, late again. I've been busy, ok! We left Texas on April 25 (thank goodness, sorry Texas). We then headed for Shreveport Louisiana to attend an FMCA motor home rally. We haven't been to a RV rally in years and this was sort of on the way home. It was small and we were sort of disappointed but we did learn a few new things at a couple of the seminars that we went to and saved some money on our insurance. They provided breakfast every morning and did have entertainment at night. There were all sizes of motor homes there from the little class B to the really big class A.
We left there on Thursday and headed to Wichita Falls Texas (I know back in Texas but a necessary evil) to visit our grand- daughter Chloe at Sawyer A.F.B. This will probably be the last time we get to see her before she leaves for the U.K. We were able to visit her for the whole weekend and had a good time together. Holly made her some of the foods she likes and we even went out for ice cream a couple of nights. She sure looks different out of uniform.
We went to the river walk and to the falls. The town isn't named after the falls. It is actually a sculpture next to the river and water is pumped to the top to flow back down to the river. Due to all of the rain they have been having the water was the color of mud. After we said our goodbyes we headed to Arkansas to see our friends from the park in Texas, Bill and Penny. We meet them at a C.O.E. park called Jefferson Ridge. We had a chance to visit for a couple of days and then we headed for Decatur Indiana to drop the motor home off at the factory for some repairs and then headed home.
Once home it was busy, busy, busy. I had lawn mowers to get ready for summer and brakes to put on the Jeep. Out to dinner with friends then a quick trip back to Decatur to pick up the motor home to get it home to get ready to leave again. But first a get together with family for Memorial Day. It also gave us a chance to see Beckie's and John's house after all the work they have been doing. John has done a nice job and I'm sure Beckie has a been supervising all the way.
Holly, Krista and Beckie decided to get a tattoo together. It was Holly's first and last (that's what she said not me). It is a lady bug in the shape of a heart.
We also had a graduation. That's right, Cameron graduated (I lost that bet). I tell ya, first Chloe graduates last year then joins the Air Force. Now Cameron graduates and is headed to college in the fall. These kids are making me feel old. Oh that's right, I am old...I just don't need my grand kids to remind me! Here he is entering with his class and getting his diploma.
Here he is looking inside and finding out that it is empty (maybe I did win that bet). Heck, I guess they sent it to him in the mail.
Here he is with Dad and Mom and his grandparents. We are very proud of him and wish him well in college this fall. That's it. May seemed to fly by and it feels as though I didn't get everything done I wanted to but it's that way every time we get home. Cam graduated on the 28th of May and we were on the road to our next adventure bright and early on the 29th. Headed to Libby Montana to be host at Libby Dam for the Army Corp of Engineers. We wish everyone a great and safe summer. Stop back next month and see what exotic places we have been to. It's going to be a dam great summer.
